My limited knowledge of Marfans comes from many years working in ophthalmology. (These patients usually will develop dislocation of their crystalline lenses.) Of course, I jumped right on the Internet to see if anyone else had the same suspicions and found an article by Dr. Nancy Reyes from July 1, 2008, who was wondering the same thing.
Her article included a photo first published in the NYT that caused her alarm bells to go off and a photo of Obama's Kenyan family. (Marfans is an inherited disorder.)
If Obama does have Marfan Syndrome, it may explain why he has an army of attorneys guarding his medical records like three headed hounds guarding the gates of hell. It also may be another factor in his obsession with Abraham Lincoln, whom supposedly had the disorder. Considering the two men are polar opposites when it comes to the Constitution, patriotism and governance, it could be an explanation.

As a person with Marfan, I can say members of our community have joked about this, but NOT because he looks like he has Marfan (he's HARDLY a poster child...check out www.marfan.org if you want to see people with "classic Marfan") but because we'd love someone famous (besides Bin Laden, haha) to have it for increased PR. :-p
Thanks for the input Marfmom. I disagree with you about Obama exhibiting classic signs of Marfan's or what we called Type 1 in University faculty practice.
This blog post is one of the few (maybe only) I've ever written that is merely personal observation w/o a political agenda.
Thank you for the link, but the only thing of value I learned from the site is that it is a group of people shilling for government-run universal health care rationing. Of course, I may be wrong. I stopped reading when I got to the Rosie O'Donnell link.
I grew up with a father who lived and died with Marfans and the moment I saw Obama, I suspected the syndrome in him....not just because of specific appearance for "red flag" facial and and overall habitus features, but the loose-jointed locomotion he has.The bad news is that the VP, Biden, has already had two major inter-cranial burst aneurysms repaired, too. THis all could portend a Nancy Pelosi presidency....as the Speaker is 3rd in line to inherit the job should disaster befall the first 2 (And we were afraid of McCain's age. Is THAT all? He with a nearly centigenerian mother. For shame on us.)...
